Why I Do What I Do
In change, there is no promise of better, only a promise of different
– and the definition of different does not guarantee better!” — Jodi Holstein
Business professionals, young and old, experienced and novice, management and administrators have communicated over and over again that they are frustrated about unmet expectations in their offices, homes, and communities. More often than not, they wait anxiously for some kind of a solution to miraculously appear that will make things better. When no solution presents itself, brokenness is accepted.
In every problem encountered, a process failure can usually be found. Process improvement is an approach that encourages making things better – not perfect. Most people understand that even the best of the best can get better, they just don’t know how to go about making it happen.
Leadership is not a rare ability only given to a select few. With the right instruction and coaching any professional at any level can champion a process improvement effort and lead themselves, their department, or an entire organization away from brokenness.
Jodi does what she does because colleges don’t include this in most degree programs, employers don’t necessarily provide training, and helicopter parents aren’t finding it necessary to pass on.
Jodi began her career in the corporate world over thirty years ago. From the obscure “mom and pop” to the Fortune 500 companies, Jodi has held a variety of different responsibilities and has seen more opportunities for process improvement than she cares to count.
In 2010, Jodi launched her own business managing professional trade associations. She puts her skills to use guiding and directing Boards of non-profits to improve the way they deliver value to members. In this environment, she finds opportunities for processes improvement daily!
Jodi’s 20 years of experience performing on stage, and her anecdotal style, enables her to communicate with ease, humor, and relatable stories, allowing groups of any size to walk away with practical ideas delivered in an entertaining way.
